A naturally dwarf tree that will only reach 3-feet in containers. Can be pruned to be kept smaller yet. Dwarf Pomegranates will bloom when they are about 1 foot tall. Orange-red trumpet shaped flowers adorn the plant from late summer through fall attracting hummingbirds. 2-inch plus bright red edible fruit follow the flowers. The fruit makes a juicy snack. The taste of this popular fruit is a mix of strawberry and raspberry. Its leaves are dark green, marbled with shades of bronze.
Punica granatum 'Nana' need full sun and a well-drained soil mix. In warmer climates can be grown outside, in cooler areas, bring indoors for the winter. Minimum temperature of 40 degrees in the winter. Water once a week during the growing season and fertilize on a monthly basis. Once flowering has begun in late summer, the plant should be watered about 3 times a week to produce lots of flowers and fruit.
